“The curtain on Suor Angelica rose revealing a very attractive set which would have been the pride of almost any regional house in the country; a series of graceful arches backed by a stone wall lit by candles, and imposing doors with a Christ figure at the top. Collectively these set pieces appropriately conveyed the solemn atmosphere of the convent in which the opera is set.”
